Shilpgram Utsav 2009
Shilpgram Festival will be more special and attractive this year as West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC), the organizer of Shilpgram Festival is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Year. The 10 day festival will start on 21 Dec. It is considered as one of the most colorful festival and an exceptional stage for traditional art and artists.
Shilpgram Utsav(Festival) is intended to bring the creations of hundreds of talented craftsmen to the doorsteps of common man eliminating middlemen. More than 400 craftsmen & artisans from all over the country put up their stalls in the traditional ‘Haat Bazar’ environment of Shilpgram every year, where they create, exhibit and sell their masterpieces. Every evening witnesses a riotous colour of folk dances, music from various part of country and programmes organised on different themes.
Every year Shilpgram festival is organized in the last week of December. The festival lasts for 10 days and aims at providing insights of traditional village life. Many craftsmen and artists participate from different parts of the country in this cultural and traditional fair. The beauty of this place is undoubtedly beyond exploration. To explore more, we suggest you to not to miss the fair and visit it as soon as possible.
Shilpgram Utsav 2009, the amalgamation of folk arts and handicrafts is going to begin from 21st till 30th December in which folk artists and craftsmen from different states will gather for the festive season. Entries on the first day after 3 pm will be free.
